EPA Offers Assistance to Small Water Systems

Last week, the Environmental Protection Agency announced that they will be providing up to $15 million in funding for small drinking water and wastewater systems in the United States.These small systems- those serving fewer than 10,000 people, as well as - will be able to receive training and tools to improve their system operations and management. The EPA aims to help these systems "achieve and maintain compliance with the Safe Water Drinking Act," which ensures the quality of America's drinking water. Interested systems must apply by April 9, 2012, and the EPA will award funding in the summer.
